How I Created Records By Spreading Awareness About Covid-19

shivang verma

When the pandemic spread to India, I noticed a severe lack of awareness among people in my community. Many were not informed of the proper prevention and protection techniques, leaving them at risk. Although the information was available online and was spread across various government portals, I decided to compile all the necessary information into one place, make accompanying sketches and share my findings and art on various Indian government portals, social media, and through the health ministry.

While the sketches were initially made to help raise awareness online, their impact soon spread. Some of the sketches were printed and posted in government offices, shops and on roads; the entire collection was compiled into a single PDF and spread to various communities.

I sketched 102 motivational posters to support medical professionals and volunteers fighting Covid-19 (which landed me a place in the Asia Book of Records and also among United Nation’s 10 young inspirational leaders fighting Covid-19 from Asia).

In addition to my work, I have continued my usual work of working to support several water conservation causes and promote over 250 petitions related to global issues.
