Is the government listening to the needs of the people?

I really feel that the current government or one can say NDA 1 and 2, did some drastic changes in the system, governance and social welfare for the citizens. No one denied that now it’s easy to reach to the top level of ministers in a single click which was not possible in the past.

This government provided a very strong platform for e-governance to ordinary citizens which helps everyone to raise their voice. In terms of tolerance, we cannot deny that the current PM and his ministers are facing challenges every day, being blamed for their bold decisions. I would like to take a couple of incidents where people or citizens misused their Right to Speak and Right to Expression rights.

  1. JNU Protest: Really disappointed with slogans raised in JNU Campus like “Bharat Tere Tukde Hoge” and praised Afazal Guru and other traitors. Being a reputed institute JNU Students must need to follow constitution and need to set an example but in reality they failed. This is because of JNU in hands of Left Parties and Communist Think tank always against any changes and development. They want to drive their own ideology at expense of national security and harmony. They want to divide people in caste, religion, upper and lower economic background. However still Central Government not punished all students who took participation in Sabarmati Dhaba protest and only filed legal suites against those who organized this anti national protest.
  2. CAA – NRC Protest: In world almost 200 Countries existed as per United Nations. All countries have their national religion and national language. All countries having citizen database which help them to announce social welfare schemes for native people. Also, every country having law in which they protect their citizens rights within local national boundaries and abroad. If any native citizen facing threat in abroad without any prior intimation he/she can come back to native country. Citizen Amendment Act providing this facility to those minorities (Shikhs/Hindus/Jainism/Christians/Jews) who are leaving in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan and other countries where their basic Human Rights violated by majority people. This act providing legal citizenship to them. Now question here is that when this law made to provide citizenship then how it can withdraw anyone’s right as a citizen? Also, now it’s necessary to introduce National Register for Citizens to eliminate illegal migrants from India. Their number is really huge.
  3. Shahinbagh Aandolan: This agitation was totally politically sponsored and anti national. Actually participants came from only one class who were not affected with CAA and NRC. Even they were failed to provide single evidence where anyone’s citizenship took after implementing this law.
  4. Farmer’s Agitation: Now currently Farmer Agitation. Government introduced 3 farm laws to increase income. Government opened up markets for agriculture products beyond APMCs. Government providing alternate option to farmers for selling their corps as per their wish. If they wish to sale their product in APMC they have freedom. If they wish to sale their product in local market they have free hand. Political Parties which are opposing these laws one time supported this kind of mechanism. They have also mentioned in their political manifesto that if their government come in central they will abolish this APMC system and make open market system. In APMC everyone knows that commission agents running business. Also, not every farmer able to sale their product in APMC. Only 6% farmers can sale their products in APMC and that too on lower than Minimum Support Price. Now Supreme Court too have declared that laws are not wrong but to provide solution every farm union come to commission. However, farmers denied this.

Now I would like to draw some basis similarities in all agitation

Actually current government more liberal and democratic than past governments. This too acknowledged by Supreme Court and NITI Aayog CEO Mr. Amitabh Kant that on name of Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Expression once can not go beyond certain levels. Some restriction must need to apply. However, government not shut anyone’s mouth. They have only detained those who were really culprits and strong evidence found against them.

I can say compare to other time period, current period is really good. Every citizen is aware with his/her basic rights which was not possible in past. Citizens become smart with technology, ease to do business with government, getting maximum benefits from various government schemes. These all make democracy more stronger. People able to raise their voice and government too listening them. Transparency also benefited to establish good coordination between system and citizens. One can check anything on internet about their government, their policies and facts and figures.

I praise our PM because everyday he faced lots of allegation but he continuing his work. One Nation, One Law, One Society his dream. I have read about 1975 Emergency where every thing under government control. No one has right to speak, write or express views against government. At that time democracy killed. Not now.

I have more freedom to express my views, interact with government, opposing on any issue in current government. This government really fulfill Democratic Governance System
