“I’m Direly Hoping That This Dreaded Pandemic Ends Soon”

A Youtuber once told me that while we’re living through a historical event sounds interesting, 99.9% of them are awful. Thus it really sums up the entire year. And given the current events that are happening in the country and the world, 2020 is the year no one wants to remember.

For me personally, it has been a mixed year. Staying home for almost a year has been… Let’s just say, it’s been interesting. On one hand, I’ve reflected things I’ve said and done in the past which either is great or regretting. In simple words, it was a nostalgic fest which kind of reminds me of Trainspotting 2 or The Last of Us. Anyway, there were reflections of both the good and bad times I had in the past, and I’ve found some realisations too. I’ve realised that the good times should be cherished and kept in the heart and the bad times should be remembered as well so that I would make sure that any past mistakes are not repeated again.

I’ve also gained some new hobbies alongside playing video games or drawing like making memes, editing videos or pictures on phone or writing articles which I’ve been doing very recently. Not only it could improve my resume but it will also help me kill time as well as give my opinion on certain topics that I’m interested in like video games, online world, or even some socio-legal issues in India and the world. I’m planning on writing articles about anime, memes and the war crimes in the aftermath of World War II, let’s see what other hobbies I could develop.

On the other hand, 2020 was indeed a terrible experience just like others. I’ve got bored like hell and my morale has been affected because of pointless online classes. I couldn’t focus on my studies anymore and in some cases, my mind becomes toxic because of having all the free time and being completely indecisive about what to do. I had an argument with a close friend of mine and in the end, we cut off all contact which kind of makes me sad. My bad memories about the past hunt me like an eagle, and it affects my mind like a virus.

I don’t what 2021 holds but like everyone, I’m direly hoping that this dreaded pandemic ends soon. I want to go back to physical classes. I want to spend some time with my friends and family. I want to enjoy whatever time is left for college and at the same time get my life back together.
