I understand living in a residential condominium comes with its sets of advantages and benefits. Acquainting us with many shades of grey, which we would otherwise never visualise and value, given our acknowledgment and appreciation for ranks and privileges.
But, stepping out a little from our zone of convenience will thoroughly expose us to the reality staring at our place. During my routine conversations with the security in charge of my residential complex, I was able to honour this fact with utmost honesty and humility.
Often, I have assisted them with supplies and resources. They often find it challenging to manage to meet ends. The situation so intense for them simply because we are insensitive to their assertions and claims.
As for our attitude and approach to defining their circumstances, we tend to do it from our own lens and perspectives, which leads us nowhere. For it to be insightful, it would be better if we can patiently hear out others. Many amongst us migrate to cities and states for want of subsistence and livelihood.
Dispossessed of their social and cultural capital, they end up in conflict and crisis always. So there is no point in being unfair to them for no reason at all. Do we get that? How else will humble humanity persist if it’s disconnected and disenchanted? It needs to be ordered, organized, and arranged by rhetorics.
Let us count ourselves in for collectively introspecting and investigating this!
