A Lesson I Learnt: Extinguish The Fire, Instead Of Alarming Everyone About It

I’ve realised this over the past two years that there’s really no more use of discussing how individualism is getting affected by external factors such as religion and societal pressure. If I go on discussing about this, there would probably be no end to it.

Let me put a few of my personal experiences out here, which, though were not so major, have played quite a significant role in my life. As an individual, I’ve always been inclined towards writing, particularly in Urdu, Hindi and English.

English being a universal language was accepted by my family. Hindi being my mother tongue, as they say, was something I was praised for. Even my writings in Urdu were appreciated, but they were also questioned as to why I was writing in this language and who had influenced me (probably thinking Urdu to not be as equally important). Well, the others did not pay much attention to this, but I got really bothered by it as to why I was questioned for a trivial cause.

We know and we keep on repeating the same problems, but do we bother to find a way out or take an action? It’s time to stop alarming everyone that the house’s on fire. Rather, it’s time to extinguish the fire.
