No matter how vague this might sound, you must be wondering what does one mean by everything? Moving on to this question, I had introspected earlier in life when I was younger, and wondered – how do I keep a balance of things in my life? I was rather confused.
I had observed one thing in life – people focus too much on their career/aspirations, so much so that they lose touch with the other components of life. I learnt from a wise man, Sadhguru, that your career, love life, and other parts of your personal life are components of one’s life, and none of these should be dominant in your life.
I personally feel that your career is important but not more than your happiness and relationships you have with other people, i.e., your family, friends, romantic affairs, etc.
Think about it! Many people you know are workaholics, and they forget about the other components of their life. I know at first it might sound hard to balance these things, but life is short. It is important to prioritize everything in life.
When you retire, and you ponder over your life, you will realize that you made no memories and you just spent your whole life earning a living all alone with no friends and, in the process, left those people who needed you. You will ultimately feel disappointed and dissatisfied, which will lead to a lot of regrets.
What counts in life is your happiness. You might do a million things that will bring you fame, make you rich but does all that matter if you are not happy? Ask yourself this question, are you happy? With this, rest my case.
