236 Million Indians Are Facing Health Risks Because Of One Food Habit We Often Ignore

Did you know that almost all of India’s adolescents are malnourished? That means 236 million Indians are facing health risks big and small. From mild weakness to getting inflicted by life-threatening diseases — all of this is influenced by the kind of nutrition we receive in our growing up years.

Undernutrition doesn’t just mean a few more visits to the doctor. It can have a major impact on the body’s physical, cognitive and emotional development, making it difficult for adolescents to keep up with their studies and other activities.

And it doesn’t end there, it makes adulthood difficult too. For instance, those who don’t receive proper nutrition while growing up can earn 20% lesser than their peers! Lower levels of energy and higher risks of infections heavily impact one’s ambitions and capacity to work.

We grow up with a million ideas and instructions about food, but never enough about nutrition. Knowing and understanding the micronutrients one’s body needs can mean the difference between a happy life and one spent dealing with a plethora of health and social struggles.

Having said that, a global pandemic has only made access to and awareness about nutrition tougher. With this survey, we want to start a much-needed dialogue around adolescent health, the related issues and how COVID-19 has impacted it. Join us in solving a crisis that can redefine the future of a young country like India — for the better, of course! All you have to do is take this survey!
