“Are We A Scared Country Hiding Behind The Fictional Sham Of A 56-inch Chest?”

Rihanna Tweeted about the farmer’s protests and received a lot of backlash over it.

During the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947, Manto said… land can be divided but the soul can’t be. The soul doesn’t know any border or nation, it travels through emotion breaking all barriers created by a human being.

Such a soul spoke up earlier this week, empathising with the people protesting against the farm bills introduced by the government of India. A soul who saw bigotry, a soul who saw injustice, a soul from far away land got uncomfortable seeing all this, a soul spoke up for someone else, a soul empathised, what wrong did that soul do?

Why did that selfless soul make us feel uncomfortable, is our patriotism so fragile that we can’t welcome opinions and concerns from someone who doesn’t belong to this country?  What about basic human rights? isn’t that a global phenomenon? Or are we a scared country hiding behind the fictional sham of 56-inch chest?
