Who Will Take The Chief Minister’s Post In Punjab Come 2022?

No, it wasn’t a face-saver nor a sweep for Congress in Punjab’s municipal council polls. I believe it was sympathy for the rank and role of Captain Amarinder Singh, who, in the capacity of a political leader and representative from Punjab, has always upheld integrity in his personal and political life.

Conducting each and every opinion and ideas sharply, honestly and wisely with the best of his administrative skills and schemes, earning him the trust of his contemporaries and deputies, be it on this side or that side, he has never compromised his integrity of character and conviction, speaking for his command and communication of organizing and mobilizing people’s emotions and sentiments.

I remember how Captain reacted and responded when Congress President Rahul Gandhi deliberately delayed his name for Chief Minister of Punjab. Why would the Gandhis risk losing the Captain as Punjab politically matters to Congress? Operation Bluestar illustrated the tragic end of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1984. It alarmingly aroused the passions of the enthusiastic Congress cadres participating in the Sikh pogrom ordering ordinary lives as the state grappled with militancy.

Two wrongs never make a right through the Congress repeatedly dismissed these pogroms as a handiwork of communal agents who were for the maiming, shaming and killing of the faithful Sikhs. In 2005, then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had publicly apologized in the Parliament for his party’s engagement and involvement in these pogroms.

But does it make any better for the Congress, ideally not as the party always stood by Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar, who were neck-deep associated with these pogroms. They were later sentenced to judicial custody after the Court’s historic verdict brought some respite and relief to those who lost their loved ones.

Traditionally, Congress and Akalis have rotated powers within themselves in Punjab, but with the entry of AAP in the political landscape of the state, the game has become much more interesting. In the last elections, AAP did impress everyone with its tally, thus denying the Akalis opposition slot.

None can match the likes of the Captain for his expertise and enterprise in dealing with the core concerns and crisis of his electorate. His position on the passage of the draconian farm bill aiding and assisting his communication with the centre asks the agitating farmers to shift their protests outside the state.

Severely influencing the generation of the state revenue as for the shortfall in resources for the call of rail roko Andolan in the state. I understand that the Captain was able to grasp the nerve of the movement by quickly claiming an alliance with those sitting and dissenting against the Centre’s dictatorial command as for the passage of this bill into leaky legislation. Can anybody please explain the purpose?

Shouldn’t Union Agriculture Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar come clean and elucidate on the themes picked up by farmers why he often looks up to Amit Shah and Narendra Modi for sound clarity. Punjab Assembly elections are scheduled for 2022, but Congress can still decently display itself irrespective of the final figures with this presentation in place.

A few months before, Akalis resigned from the NDA government led by Narendra Modi over this bill which was not sufficient in winning the hearts and minds of the people. Badals should do their homework first before falsely promising the electorates. AAP should get back to the ground by focusing on rebuilding the party structure and organization for giving the king of Patiala, Shri Amarinder Singh, a run for his money. Can a Kejriwal led AAP do it? I keep my opinions reserved for another political piece and write up
