Will A Committee On Farm Laws Help The Centre For The Upcoming Five Elections?

A Joint Parliamentary Committee by the Centre on the three farm laws will be a welcome step. The Centre would want to sit on this law for longer as politically, it might influence its electoral prospects given the upcoming five state assembly elections. So, it would be more than decent if the Centre invites farm associations and groups for crucial rounds of dialogue and deliberations in the presence of experts mutually arriving at a consensus. This time, the government should not dare to illustrate any haste and hurry and carefully conduct each and every opinion and view point.

The Centre should sit on this law for longer as setting up a committee might influence its electoral prospects in the upcoming five elections.

Apart from it, the Centre should refrain itself from poking the protestors pressing for their demands by referring to them as separatists or secessionists playing with fire in their hands. No, they aren’t, as you might claim them, Andolan Jeevi; they are merely loktantra jivi, Mr Prime Minister. Why are you annoying a community for their courage to speak truth to the power? They are not at your mercy; they are supreme and sovereign in articulating and expressing their opinions and purpose.

Afraid to take the blame, the Centre has been quick in seeking its alliance of arithmetic for ensuring its fine grip of authority and assertion, playing one set of people against the other. The government knows fully well of the divided opposition’s inability to portray any contest. As for these protests and agitations, they have become a symbol of pride for the common and ordinary who are successfully overthrowing popular powers.
