Some called him a book lover, some said bookish, the children call it Bookfriend. Whatever the name, the man was born to spread the light of knowledge. For the last decade, he has been travelling the light of knowledge.

So many people call him the peddler of light. He bought the book with his own money and delivered it to the reader’s house. When he finished reading, he brought the old book and brought the new one. Every morning he wakes up and goes out with a book on his shoulder to each village one day.

The beginning of the story is very simple. Due to various social media violence, most young people spend their time in the virtual world. Or when the night is deep, wakes up in a state of intoxication. The matter shocked Harun Ar Rashid. He kept thinking about the process of making young people bookish.

The book-loving man was born in Gobaria village of Kuliarchar Upazila of Kishoreganj. He passed his post-graduation from a private university and is currently working at Grameen Bank in Nawabganj. There is no end to his madness with books. He finds the lost childhood in the scent of the pages of the book.

There is no end to his work with books. Hundreds of local and foreign books have been reviewed by him online. He is always thinking of spreading the word of the book, working online as well as offline.

Rashid said that he was working to make the young society book-oriented. He is handing over books to drug-addicted youth, bringing them back to the world of books incredibly. In the last 10 years, he has brought back more than 200 young people to the world of books. Books are being decorated in their hands.

Also, by reducing online addiction, a large part of the youth is brought back to the realm of books in this way.

There is no end to this enterprising man’s thoughts in promoting books or trying to spread the word about books.

His work’s speed does not stop only through digital; the work of this book-loving man seems to be even better offline. Going from house to house, he delivers books to the people on his initiative. At the end of the week, he brings old books with new ones.

His great work did not stop even during the epidemic. At the risk of his life, he has delivered books to people of all classes and professions under the hygiene rules. With the violence of YouTube, Facebook and other online social media, children and teenagers, young and old alike are addicted to the virtual world. In order to bring these people back to the world of books from the virtual world, books are being handed over to everyone irrespective of class or profession.

This book-loving man, who is constantly running, is working day after day, tirelessly, with the torch of civilization in his hand. He dreams of a civilized society. With this goal in mind, he is also making an outstanding contribution to building libraries in disadvantaged remote areas. Open libraries are being set up in different regions with the money given by rich people of society. He also promotes books in various saloons and tea-coffee shops.
