What is to be a woman? It is such a difficult question to answer and yet so easy. Deplore the gender biases and the true idea behind breathing womanhood since we pledged to celebrate women’s day every year just to console that women today are ahead of the century.
What are the things that concern women? How to live in the same house with a harasser, losing hope to freedom of speech, crushing down the freedom of choice, and being in the bouquet of prejudice. There is so much to the picture that we never bother to care. A woman can be cranky and also be composed. There is no doubt to the reason for crankiness and to the amount of pressure she has been through in every step of her life. At the same time, it seems that being calm and composed is a lifelong policy of absorption that a woman must endure.
The real question remains, what makes her so?
Is it biological, all those chemical imbalances her body undergoes, or the externalities of human suffice? To be a woman is a synonym of a million words. The whole cycle of trauma repeats in itself. Only a few are blessed in the subpoena. Fall in love, get married, sacrifice your job to raise kids while your husband remains on the track. You might get postpartum depression as well and never recover from it.
But, the approach we adopt is undecorated, suffering is strength. Therefore, it is not about the social, political, or economic upliftment and well-being of women unrivalled. Psychology and physiology are important concerns of all time. How do we keep a regular check on the woman of the house and know that she is not hiding any feelings under her warm sheets?
The recent day scenarios are discrete. My friend once shared about her experience with the man she was dating. He never stopped taunting her about past incidents of her life. While some men are so dominating that girls tend to credit the proposition of Kabir Singh’s theory. Though, not all men are the same, and not all women. We are talking about a progressive society that also doesn’t imply crushing our dear culture, tradition, and custom. When two camps can merge for the better, why can’t men and women?
This women’s day we must teach and spread a message about self-love and how it is important to survive the desert of unbridled hope. Learn to keep up with life and get her a room. Wishing out loud to all women a cheery epoch!
