I am a male, and sometimes I cry. I weep when my mother works tirelessly to feed us. My eyes got wet when I saw my beloved sister leaving our home to get married. I break down when I notice the once-powerful superman-like body of my father getting old. I shed tears when there is no one beside me, to hold me, caress me, and care for me; neither my mother, father, wife, sister, or brother. I am alone, left by myself.
Men these days don’t want to, rather taught not to, show the real sense of courage of exhibiting their love and feelings towards their loved ones. I believe I am quite different from them. I like to cry a lot in public and personal spaces, no matter what society, family or norms dictate. Masculinity does not lie in performing brave stunts. A kind gesture of love and compassion is enough to melt anyone’s heart.
