Of course, we want farmers to live, but only if their lives fit in a certain set of standards, and they are also a leader or a father or a friend. There are so many expectations linked with each role. Yet, there prevails anomalies as well as contradictions in the practical approach towards our lifestyle. Farmers are being made to bear the brunt of the three farm laws, which they find flawed. Nearly four months are to be completed, but their wait does not end.

NEW DELHI, INDIA – 2021/01/26: Farmers’ Tractors Parade seen heading towards the Red Fort during the demonstration. Thousands of farmers from Punjab and Haryana state continue to protest against the central government’s new agricultural Laws. What has been bothering the lawmakers to relent if the farmer’s demands are just and logical? It is only they who could mitigate the prolonged problem. The farmers appear to be taking their agitation to all the states where the assembly polls will be held.

One kisaan leader talks of moving to West Bengal, where he would not hesitate to contact other farmers. Is it another way to put profound pressure on the BJP leaders? West Bengal rallies are definitely in the series of several rallies, which Kisaan Sanyukt Morcha has been holding for almost a month now.

The farmers are willing to cover almost all the election-bound states. Rallies in Uttar Pradesh’s Purvanchal districts, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Karnataka are also lined up during the days to come. It meant that the farmer’s leaders were looking for new opportunities and areas to spread the purpose of their protest, which continues to be above 100 if we go by the news reports.

The farmer’s protest continues amid the fresh enacting of Dandi March, which was undertaken against the salt act enacted by the British rulers. If the farmers help our economy run properly, why should the government delay solution and talks? In the meantime, Rakesh Tikait said the protest would continue up until ensuing November by adding that there was no question of return. We have come too far. “उन्होंने कहा कि फिलहाल आंदोलन नवंबर तक जारी रहेगा। उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘चूंकि हम बहुत दूर आ गए हैं इसलिए वापस लौटने का सवाल ही नहीं उठाता।”
