Like most of us, I have always been very proud of being a woman and why should I not be? I celebrate being a woman every day and not that I do not have people who cherish womanhood equally. I just felt that with Women’s Day around the corner, there’s no better time to rejoice femininity.
Here are three things unique to women:
The Power Of Motherhood
I have inherited all my best possessions from my mother, be it the values or lovely sarees- she has it all. I always wonder how did she manage being the world’s best mother, loving us unconditionally and just being there for us ALWAYS. But I feel that it is only women who have these superpowers and who end up doing everything possible and that’s why we have been blessed with motherhood. Maybe even God knew men (barring exceptions) won’t make great moms!
Do-it-all
It still amazes me how women can do everything. They can be ruling the corporate arena while being wonderful moms. Growing up, I saw my mother taking care of us while juggling a job and a joint family. I have seen women looking after their husband’s family with as much tenderness and responsibility as their own. Battling gender stereotypes is an extra burden, each woman has to face in her life.
Presentability
There is constant pressure on women to look a certain way. Irrespective of whichever part of the world you stay in, you have to abide by some beauty standards. This can be changed only when society is ready to change and it still looks like a distant dream. But this is a brutal expectation on women and she should have the liberty to be herself and be presentable on her own terms.
Whether we like it or not, it is challenging to be a woman even in 2021 and we should be proud of who we are. This women’s day, let us pledge to keep our spirits high and continue being our amazing female selves!
