The Plethora Of Problems Women Face In Today’s World

India is a nation where women are revered as goddesses. However, the challenges they encounter reflect the opposite of this idea. On the one hand, they worship them as goddesses, and on the other, they harass and dismiss them. In India, women have always had to deal with some form of social problems.

Patriarchy wrongly governs a woman’s existence.

People change, and issues change with them. They didn’t go forever, but they change from one to the next. To help our country prosper, we must identify and resolve these issues as soon as possible.

There were major problems in the early days, such as the Sati system, no widow remarriage, the devadasi system, etc. Although most of them are no longer prevalent, there are new problems that women face. They aren’t the same, but they are almost as bad. They stifle a country’s development and make women feel inferior.

To begin with, violence against women is a serious problem in India. It happens regularly in different ways. Instead of taking steps, people turn a blind eye to it. Domestic abuse occurs more often than you would expect. There is also dowry-related abuse, marital rape, genital mutilation and other forms of exploitation.

Furthermore, women are gradually becoming survivors of sex trafficking. Human trafficking for sexual exploitation, including sexual slavery (which is considered a form of modern slavery), is known as sex trafficking. Sex trafficking is considered an emerging issue of the current time.

In today’s world, seven in 10 victims of sexual exploitation in the world are trafficked in the Asia-Pacific. Even poor sanitisation facilities are provided to women. Unsanitary conditions affect all, but women are generally affected.

Then there’s the issue of gender inequality. Women are not considered to be on an equal basis with men. They are subjected to discrimination in almost every area, including the workplace and the home. This prejudice affects even small children. Patriarchy wrongly governs a woman’s existence.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) said that it would take 100 years for women to be paid as much as men

Furthermore, there is a lack of female education and gender disparity between men and women. Women in rural areas are also denied access to education due to their gender. Similarly, for doing the same job, women are not paid as much as men. They are also exposed to sexual abuse and exploitation.

To tackle the problems that women in India face, we must all work together as a team. Every person and government should work to make the world a better place for women. More strict legislation must be enforced against those who commit crimes against women. They must also be properly enforced for people to take them seriously.

Many organisations are also working towards the betterment of women in society. One such organisation is Apne Aap. It works to help thousands of women living in red-light areas and provide them with necessities. They have been working tirelessly for a year.

Women face many obstacles in the real world, but they continue to act as the backbone of society. We should be thankful for their sacrifices. 8 March is International Women’s Day, and it’s time to take stock of women’s lives worldwide.

In education, as well as for women in general, substantial progress has been made. There is still much work to be done to ensure that women are completely empowered, trained, protected, secure and free to participate fully in an equitable society.

On this Women’s Day, we as citizens of our country should pledge to all women that we will work to alleviate their problems. Let us celebrate women’s accomplishments on this day and ask what more can be done to fix the fact that so many women face discrimination.
