The cases of Covid-19 are surging multifold. Everywhere, uncertainty is hovering. The plight of migrant workers is beyond imagination. The never-ending cycle of suffering and turmoil has become common among all.
Like waiting for Godot, we all are waiting for a mysterious situation that will dispel all our agony. Nothing is possible to pervade the darkness that is looming over us. The active Covid cases have crossed 30 lakhs with a record of over 1,761 daily deaths.
This is the worst health crisis that India has ever seen.
Even vaccinated health workers are facing the burnt of infection and dreadful contamination. Several states have cited weekly shutdowns and lockdown as a last resort to fight this unseen foe. The ever-growing fear of losing someone dear is spreading like wildfires.
There has been a dramatic spike in Covid cases, more than last year’s active cases. Even in the second strain, the mutant virus is actively escalating severe damage, especially to the young population. It has been a catastrophic failure to the economic condition of our country by seriously affecting employment opportunities.
Due to the unprecedented doom, gloom and fear of death, migrant workers are leaving for their hometowns. If this type of disaster continues, then we will lose a big chunk of our population, maybe more than one crore. As India is combating against Covid like a fighter, the whole world is eyeing on its methods of curbing the disaster.
However, the lack of oxygen in some highly developed cities of our country exposes the absence of far-sighted attitudes maybe. Actually, due to careless public behaviour with inappropriate gathering, callous to the basic Covid norms such as avoiding masks, we have brought ourselves to this mass destruction.
It’s very difficult to insulate ourselves from this grappling fear of contamination. In the present holocaust of events, we have to remain mentally and physically stable only by meditation, proper diet and diverting our mind from constant toxic thoughts. By looking at the gravity of the situation, the Centre has approved vaccination of everyone over 18 years of age from May 1. We should extend a heartfelt welcome to such a great step. Still, our country has to fill the gap between the vaccine and needy families. The second mutated virus is likely to affect younger people this time. Unfortunately, the scarcity of oxygen and ICU beds are the needful demands to be fulfilled by our Centre to eradicate the fear looming over the entire nation. Thus, better availability of vaccine is the need of the hour.
So, nowadays, some states are constantly complaining of a shortage of vaccines, beds, oxygen cylinders and so on.

Ventilators,
and last, but not the least, compassion, sympathy and sensitive awareness to help others in this catastrophe.
