Politics Does Not Always Require Bookish Knowledge

Grabbing up a scented flower from another’s hand may annoy one extremely, but having no information about the name of the country’s President or PM and also about the Panchayati Raj minister at UP government stay in sharp stress for all of us as a whole piece of news was carried on this misinformation.

One may realise it a relatively easier input, but how could the candidates be blamed for this humble ignorance? Contesting an election does not require an educational qualification. It needs only age.

Even now, so many years after independence, a comprehensive dumb approach persists tardily. Has the news been carried out due to the slow pace of information technology in rural areas? Of course not. Then how could a graduate lady candidate for Panchayat elections, when asked to tell the name of the Prime Minister, fail to explain? Similarly, a literate male candidate could not say the name of the Panchayat Raj minister in UP.

विधायक राहुल कोल की पत्नी रिंकी सिंह प्रधानमंत्री का नाम तक नहीं बता सकी। जिला पंचायत चुनाव में हलिया विकास खंड वार्ड नंबर चार से नामांकन दाखिल करने के बाद मनी राम कोल से पंचायती राज मंत्री का नाम पूछा तो उन्हें जिला पंचायत राज मंत्री का नाम तक मालूम नहीं था। पंचायत चुनाव में प्रदेश में अनूसूचित जाति अनुसूचित जनजाति के उपाध्यक्ष एवं दर्जा प्राप्त राज्य मंत्री अपने को महज साक्षर बताने वाले मनिराम कोल ने पीएम का नाम पूछने पर कहा कि बच्चा-बच्चा जानता है।
