Does Agriculture Need More Innovation Or A Continued Rigid, Traditional Practice?

What is the need of our current situation? I think sustainable agriculture with an increased income of the farmers is what we are looking forward to. So how we can do that?

Let me think.

I think there are two ways to go about it, if we keep the farming area constant. The first way is for the farmer to diversify their resources to include forest produce, cattle and bees to their farm.

Another way could by increasing the production of crops. Now, the second way is what we are trying to some extent, but taking the idea of sustainable agriculture into consideration, this method won’t help us.

So, we have only the first method to  go with, i.e. increasing resources of income. And to develop that integrated system, we have to use innovative and scientific approach.

In any field, innovation is the key for development and is usually done by the genius class. Aren’t we lacking such folks? Yep, I guess.

Price is definitely a major issue in agriculture, but if we can achieve demanded quality, then we will get price for it as well. I do support the three farm bills because private companies have the capital to get these freaking geniuses on board who can uplift this field to a great extent.

And there should be a government agency who can make sure that farmers are not exploited by companies.
