Will Rahul Gandhi Ever Be Able To Revive The Congress?

Rahul Gandhi

The moot question before the Congress is, will Rahul Gandhi be able to revive the party now? A tough task stands before him presently. Though he is still not declared the party’s high command, his chance to gain that big chair has not ever seen the support from senior leaders in the party. This is quite the opposite time running owing to the widespread wave of the risky virus.

Representative Image.

Certainly, for the party’s elders saying no to the elections as Digvijay Singh and Pramod Tiwari have hinted at cannot be termed an incorrect decision. Sure, their strategy to favour Rahul Gandhi looks questionable for others who remain disgruntled, but they have plainly shown a good recourse. Their decision to hurry rather than simply run towards this way has ascertained loyalty to the Gandhi family. Why would they ever venture against Rahul Gandhi?

The Congress party remains in the news since it has not done well in the recently held assembly polls recently. Postponement of the election to the party’s highest post that was being expected on 23 June has gone for the next time. The reason behind this ruling was nothing but the biggest scourge of the time, like the influenza epidemic of 1918.

Everyone can understand it easily; it is Coronavirus. Every leader in the party appears to be okay with this ultimate conclusion. Therefore, it becomes easy to say that the bane of Corona has once more postponed the possibility of the Congress Party’s president’s election.

Does this postponement not provide a good chance to Rahul Gandhi? His chance remains alive. This is where we learn the intrinsic point behind lingering the due poll for maybe more days, weeks or months. It almost seems like a pecking order.

“The Congress had earlier decided to have a new Congress president in place before June 2021 and the party’s central election authority chaired by Madhusudan Mistry had proposed holding the election on 23 June,” writes Business Standard.
