The Israeli Attack On Palestinians Hints At A Larger Conflict

As many as seven Palestinians were killed in the latest airstrike on a house in Gaza City as the U.S. envoy arrives in Israel as part of mediation endeavours. Loss of lives on the Palestinian side is more than Israeli. What gives an open hand to Israel is the forgiving approach of the U.S., allowing it to exert a right to defend itself.

In the guise of self-defence, the Israelis are killing the vulnerable Palestinians. But this attack looks more than the precincts of the term. Neither the U.S. nor the EU is adopting a stricter stand against Netanyahu, who has unleashed this heartlessness against the weaker Palestinians. They are only defending themselves.

Benjamin Netanyahu.

What is the need of Egyptian mediators to broker a deal for ending the conflict if the U.S. is capable of doing much in this case and direction? Netanyahu’s office has clearly told the U.S. president that Israel would continue acting to strike at the military capabilities of Hamas and the other militant groups active in the Gaza Strip. While Benny Gantz, the Israeli defence minister, said: “Israel is not preparing for a ceasefire. There is currently no end date for the operation. Only when we achieve complete quiet can we talk about calm.”

Then how can Biden be so optimistic about the let-up in the violence sooner? The self-propelled Howitzer booms echo all around Palestinians, but it does not tear down the ear’s drum of those who voice their concern for the human rights violations. When Israel has nearly pledged to continue acting to strike at the military capabilities of Hamas and the other groups active in the Gaza Strip, there remains no strong voice being raised against Israel, who initiated such a grim situation.

Is it not apparent presently that Netanyahu keeps everyone entangled in his complex type of extreme political pursuit? When three earlier wars have done nothing fruitful, this conflict can also wreak havoc on civilians. Only and ultimately, peace would come to prevail.

What started as protests over contested evictions in an East Jerusalem neighbourhood turned into a larger conflict between Israel and the Hamas ruling Gaza. Why does Israel want the eviction of 27 households? The call for an end to the turmoil seems to fall flat on the UNO as uncertainties continue to escalate after the fifth day.
