Poem: Shouting Voices, Screams & Silent Hymns

candle burning in the dark

candle burning in the dark

Oh, this queen of worlds, where do I seek you?
Oh, the wicked rulers of all, did you miss me too?
They say you come as charmingly as dreams,
Fool ’em, in you I only see meanings & purposes, millions of screams,

So many so early, so much so soon,
Consumed these mortals like a bloodthirsty moon,
In Fire & Earth, you woke your faithful allies,
Cruelty & crime is yours, ours only grim cries,
Determined to cause destruction, once a duty, your afflictions are now pure evil,

Resiliency our fortress, we shall defeat you no matter how lethal,
They say I shall seek you more often,
But greet you better out of caution,
They think we haven’t met before,
Invisible to them, we are the twins gone sour,

Both to meet one day and every day,
Both to live every day, till one day,
Both to kill one day and every day,
Both to depart every day, until one day,

With me you began, with you I was born,
When it’s time, together we shall both be torn,
Oh, the king of my conscience,
When and where did we begin to lose our innocence?

Oh my companion, do you see our laid bare misdeeds,
Who shall have to reap the fruit of our sinister seeds?
They say you’re as sweet as a peach,
Only I see what you secretly preach,

So many so early, so much so soon,
Aspirations of those taken away, I hear & watch them in silence, be it midnight or noon.
