Sorry Mother Earth,
Mankind for a long time has been exploiting you.
You didn’t say anything.
They killed your forests for ruthless greed, they harmed your wildlife for their own benefits, they ruined your environment in the name of development, they build their castles in the name of development, they forced other species to extinction by polluting you, they sought pleasures out of harming you.
You were quiet.
You were still benevolent.
You provided them with oxygen, they harmed the balance by excess of CO2.
You provided them with water, they contaminated with plastics.
You provided them with wildlife, they poached them for greed.
You provided them with minerals, they overused them to satiate their demands.
You provided them with ozone, they made a hole in it.
You provided them with forests, they cleared with axe.
You taught them benevolence and forgiveness, they learnt greed and vengeance.
Perhaps you were at fault!
Fault of gifting humans a perfect environment with resources to live.
Why are Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Uranus not as kind as you?
Perhaps you spoilt us with your pamperness of privileging us with unique precious elements.
Perhaps your love as a mother was not seen, and was taken for granted by humans.
And perhaps mother, you are tired of forgiving us and now you are forced to slap your child to teach them a lesson.
Perhaps you want to teach that every life has value. You want to teach your child the value of every single thing you gifted which seemed so obvious to them. The oxygen which was so abundant is now not reaching the lungs of your child.
You have taught us that Nature’s revenge can destroy and make mankind suffer.
We are thus now suffering Nature’s curse namely- earthquakes, landslides, floods, COVID!
There was a time when people used to worship nature as it was the cause of their survival. Those people were none other than the now so-called Gods. And maybe that’s why they are Gods. Maybe Nature granted them with powers as they revered Nature and did not exploited it.
Worshipping and respecting Nature is far more effective than worshipping idols for the betterment of the world.
Lastly,
Mother, we are sorry. Please forgive us this last time. Please save your children.
