So it has finally come about. Rahul Gandhi is assumed to be better as an opposition leader than a Prime Minister. Who is saying out this fact of late without an appetite for political objective? Everyone knows it as he regards him clean and no longer needs others to sit behind him on the chair. Scuffling out his long loose Kurta and whispering songs of his party in this confidence that one day he will have to calm the high post.
A senior leader of a political party has stirred controversy by saying that the scion of the Nehru-Gandhi family, Rahul Gandhi is definitely a PM material. It is so because he has been a Congress party leader for a long time tempting others to react sharply and harshly. It also opens debate upon whether his comments are mockery or an honest offer.
However, it can surely not be a spoof. It could be a confidence-boosting assertion also. Why can Rahul Gandhi not be a prime minister?
Addressing the Congress leader, the famous lyricist Javed Akhtar says: “Mr Salman Khurshid, your oxymoron ‘King of democracy’ is utterly pathetic. Rahul Gandhi can at best be acceptable as one of the opposition leader, but anyone who fantasizes RG as PM is doing his best to keep Mr Modi as prime minister of India forever.”
What people think of Javed Akhtar is simple, yet a bit sarcastic. His thoughts can not be changed if he has developed a certain view regarding Rahul Gandhi. He does not want to see him as Prime minister at all.
