Islamophobia And Oppression: Lived Realities Of Muslims

The desires of the world of appearance are the garlanded chains of slavery which stifle in men’s breasts that sense of ‘original’ liberty and cause them to love their own slavery.

We were shackled with the chains to the world of being by demonic antagonists. They showed us into servitude.

The multifaceted servitude materializes into 3 forms- economic servitude, political servitude, and social servitude. Economic servitude forms the base whereas political and social servitude is the part of the superstructure which depends upon the base.

People hold placards during a demonstration in front of the Chinese embassy in Jakarta, on December 21, 2018. The protesters demand that China stop detaining thousands of minority Uighur Muslims in camps and political indoctrination centers in its Xinjiang region.
China has tightened restrictions over the instruction of Islam and the Uighur language to assimilate the minority group into the Chinese mainstream, which is dominated by the Han ethnic group. It says the process will bring economic benefits to Xinjiang’s poor people. China has denied operating the camps and said it is taking necessary measures to fight terrorism, religious extremism, and separatism. (Photo credit: Afriadi Hikmal/ Barcroft Media via Getty Images)

In 1965, Kwame Nkrumah, former President of Ghana, coined the term “neo-colonialism” for the practice of using economics, globalization, and conditional aid to influence a country. Today, all the developing and less developed counties are entrapped in neo-colonialism by the developed superpowers and international institutions like the World Bank, IMF, and WTO which ensure “legitimate” Monopoly of the West( predominantly Monopoly of USA).

The major threat which remained invisible to our eyes is China’s aid to Islamic countries. China enjoys a warm relationship with almost all the Islamic countries which are heavily dependent on China’s economic assistance and trade. The slaves have no right against their masters therefore not even a single Islamic country condemns China’s oppression of Uyghur Muslims rather signed a letter defending China. That’s how economic servitude entered and persist in the system.

Once the base is invaded, encapturing the superstructure becomes duck soup. Masters tame their political slaves through soft power(i.e. economic power) and, in case of failure, hard power (i.e.military power) enters the stage. An example of the former is the OIC silence on Uyghur Muslims and of latter is the US invasion of Iraq in 2003 (Gulf War II) and the 2011 military intervention in Libya.

The ‘so-called superior race’ dehumanized the 3rd world people with the title “uncivilized savages”. Muslim men were depicted as backward and cunningly dangerous. These “uncivilized savages” to become “civilized” accepted and imitated the “modernized superior Western culture“.They incorporated the presumably superior western norms, rules, and practices in civil society. Hence social servitude was fabricated through consent.

So, my Muslim brothers and sisters free yourself from the garlanded chains of slavery. It’s time for us to unite.

Unite to battle the oppressors.

Unite to fight against prejudice.

Unite to support the underdogs.

Unite to uproot the tyrannical system.
