Quick Bytes: Living In Two Worlds

book shelf

I have often found myself living in two worlds. One is a world of books, where I have resided in “my apocryphal county”, hunted the white whale aboard the Pequod, fought alongside Napoleon, sailed a raft with Huck and Jim and rode a sad train with Anna Karenina. It is a very rewarding world that has helped shape me into the person I am today.

Having said that, my other world is by far superior. It is filled with characters slightly less eccentric, made of flesh and bone, filled with love, laughter and so much content that it puts Pushkin’s to utter shame. This one is supremely real and has helped shape me for a world of challenging morrow. One thing that separates this world of knowledge from the other one is to have and hold dear a realm of wild dreams and to believe that anything is true, everything is in your hand.

I have considered it to be a privilege far above any other to be able of sailing in two boats at the same time. The unconditional promises kept by books but to witness those limitations of safekeeping in real life is something most people will forever be deprived of.
