As A Student, The Change In Routine During The Lockdown Has Been Agonising

online class stress

The pandemic has changed almost every sphere of our lives, leaving no alternative but to adapt. Being a student, the pandemic took a massive toll on my mental health, for we hadn’t really been exposed to online teaching methods before this and coming to pace with online classes was really difficult.

The stress level was piled even more due to inadequate internet connectivity, lack of experience and the sudden increase in the amount of time I spent looking at my phone.

The first few months were really challenging because it’s our routine to get up early and be ready to get to school as a student. But the absence of such discipline during the coronavirus lockdown has really affected the rate at which the brain of the young generation should be working. Getting up and diving into the mobiles and laptops for 6 to 8 hours straight was really tiring.

This was really agonising in terms of the kind of life we had started to live. Being trapped inside our houses for months became frustrating and concentration became almost impossible. Spending the peak hours of the day lying around doing nothing productive was not at all healthy. Moreover, listening to daily news reports about the deaths due to the coronavirus was really heartbreaking.

Maybe it was so difficult for us because our minds have been designed to work in optimum conditions and a little variation from normal really starts changing our attitude. The pandemic took a test of our capabilities and patience for a long time and we might as well say that we learned something from it.
