It’s been nearly 10 months since the tyranny on ‘Desh Ke Kisaan‘ (the words they use while asking for votes), yet, this totalitarian system is not even near to considering the repealing of the three farm bills or least amend them to introduce MSP, as the farmers are demanding. The government claims that the prerogatives of the farmers are safe and protected in the bills.
How are they protected when they are being deprived of their basic minimum guaranteed wage? How are they supposed to shield themselves from the tycoon companies? There needs to be a minimum price for farmers.
What Is MSP?
The reason minimum wage was set up in the first place is because companies were banding together to pay workers as low as possible. If you get rid of the mandate, literally everyone will pay a lower wage. The bourgeoisie control the government via lobbying, which allows them to essentially buy laws into existence — so you think deregulating these giant corporations and monopolies further will suddenly implore them to do the right thing? You think that the people who have historically fought tooth and nail to exploit the poor and pay them as little as possible will suddenly start paying them more, offering more benefits, and giving the proletariat liveable conditions on “humanitarian grounds?”
You have been proven wrong in every page of history. The unquenchable downslope in the GDP has proven you wrong. Demonetisation has proven you wrong. Privatisations has proven you wrong. Corporations lobbying as hard as they can to save money and pollute the nation have proven you wrong. The ceaseless quest for capital by the ‘Ambani-Adani’ class aka the bourgeoisie of India will just intensify and become more unliveable the more you deregulate the private sector — history has, at every turn, proven you wrong.
In our hypothetical deregulated society, you couldn’t “just go to work somewhere that pays you better”. When you deregulate things to the extent that nowhere pays you well enough, you are just left with ‘pakore talo‘. Things are already bad enough, but imposing these draconian farm bills by force is a bigger step taken backwards to the already regressive economic structure of the country and a blot to its democratic citadel.
