How The Generation Gap Affects The Relationship Between The Old And Young

family generations

Just needing to get their privacy is all they hear repeatedly, and again they stand on the other side of the argument. As we grow and start venturing out, our parents start fearing the void that makes them against the ideals they have cultured and cultivated throughout their life.

Parents are always said to be the pressure bearing pillars for us. They succumb to a lot of financial, mental barriers and sometimes their own thoughts of raising us and all they wait for is those small steps of ours getting a successful title. This is where they get satisfied. But again, the differences in our parents’ opinions and our side start creating a space as we start assuring ourselves about the future phase of success.

In all these opinions, our parents sometimes try to be the empathisers we want, but unfortunately end up preaching their values, knowingly or unknowingly, which becomes another cause of narrowing the strings that hold up this family bond. Parents expect their children to listen to them and hear out the things they have shared, but sceptically, age plays a barrier in understanding the two sides of these generations fighting for years and years to prove their point.

Years of written and imbibed bygone amour of “this is right and those are the rules” should be laid down now, where the young and the old would be free from witty manipulations and ages of convincing each other.

The right time is when this Old and Young come to considerations to solace the feeling of liberty and welcome the freedom where this thought barrier is set free.
