French Court Orders Probe Into Rafale: Will This Become Another Bofors Moment?

The French Court has ordered a judicial probe into the scandalous and sensational Rafale deal. This comes despite the Central Government having already taken a back seat and suppressed facts with fiction. If PM Narendra Modi is so convinced about the Deal, then why is he so afraid to order a Joint Parliamentary Committee to scrutinise the deal made on the foreign soil?

Otherwise, how could a capitalist tycoon like Anil Ambani have mustered the conviction to bypass the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited in getting through with the tender to procure Rafale fighter jets? Whose vested interested did Anil Ambani fulfil and why was he picked up?

Don’t we know how he declared himself bankrupt for his inability to finance and fund various projects of the Reliance subsidiaries, knocking on the doors of his elder brother Mukesh Ambani to bail him out of his own chaos? Does paying more than the actual cost to Dassault proved substantially significant?

Even though the Centre suppressed the facts of Rafale deal in the garb of national security, the French court has ordered a probe. How will this end?

It’s upon our policymakers to rise from this awkwardness and boldly champion the unsaid and untold in this deal. This shouldn’t become the BJP’s Bofors moment if they intend to escape and skip under the guise of national security and sovereignty. The country can’t afford another disrepute and disregard to its pride and honour.

The BJP should come out of its echo chambers and for its limitations from reel to real. Modiji, you can at least inspire and involve your file and cadre as a whole, and exhibiting a demeanour of confidence and conviction, if that is what it takes to say and speak up with all humility and humbleness.
