I Am Grateful For My Internship Journey With Pravah

My journey of this Pravah Smile In-Turn-Ship was incredible. It started 4 weeks ago and now it’s about to end. I didn’t even think or plan from the beginning that I would come on this journey.

I came to know about this “inturnship” from a friend of mine. Initially, I was scared because this was my first internship and I haven’t worked with any organisation. But now, it seems that I took the right decision by filling the form of this creative journey. And see the luck, I got selected too.

When our first session met, I was very nervous, but I was shocked and excited after the session. At that time, the only question that was roaming my mind was how could one do an online session in such a fun and creative way.

Due to COVID, I’m attending my colleges, tuition, course classes online, but it all feels boring. But not in the case of this internship. The mentors designed the session beautifully in a fun, creative and learning way that anyone will fall in love with this journey.

After my first session, I forgot all my tensions, nervousness, seriousness regarding this journey. After that, I got excited about the next sessions.

In this journey, I got Netri Foundation as my organisation. After reading the name, I thought that since it was a big organisation, I would get a lot of work and be punished if I didn’t complete the tasks. These things were roaming my mind but what happened was its opposite.

I got Kanksshi ma’am (founder of NETRI) as my supervisor. She is such a soulful person. I thought that ma’am would get angry about work. But it was nothing like that. She helped me throughout the whole journey. Whenever I used to have issues in some work, ma’am used to understand me comfortably and kindly.

I learned so many new things regarding politics, especially women in politics. That was the main motto of this organisation: how can we reach more women and increase their participation in politics.

I didn’t know much regarding politics, but after meeting with Kanksshi ma’am, I learned so many new things about politics. Kanksshi ma’am is such an inspiration for all the women who are watching her and following her. I really appreciate you, ma’am, from the bottom of my heart for your work.

Moving forward in the journey, we got mentors and buddies. My mentor was Naman Goel. He is such a creative personality. The way he motivated and supported us, especially me, throughout the journey was very amazing.

My buddy was Shruti. She is a hard-working girl. I found her always busy with her work. And it’s great to keep yourself busy with your work. She also motivated me to try new things during the pandemic.

On this journey, I also met with lots of creative and fun-loving personalities like Jatin (kind nature with soothing voice), Saad (loving nature with funny ideas), Sukannyaa (inspiring nature with a lovely smile), Chanchal (helping nature with lots of work), Nandhini (helping nature).

I also made lots of new friends: Hari Priya, Harshita, Azeen, Amana, Maria, Hiba Di, Shayan, Bhawna, Shrawan, Komal, Mahima, Vanshika, Manav, Ananyashri, Maheshwar. They are all amazing, creative and fun-loving in their own way. But somehow, somewhere, they also taught, inspired and motivated me throughout the journey. I hope we will meet soon.

My journey was amazing with all those people who were connected to us from everywhere in the world. I discovered so many new things about myself. I learned so many new things about society. I polished so many of my weak skills. We worked together, we had fun together and we learned together as a family.

Now, this journey is about to end in few days and I’m going to miss everyone. I will miss this platform too that taught me life lessons in this short time.

Thank you so much, Pravah, for creating such a beautiful and creative space where young people like me can meet with each other and share our thoughts, experience, lessons and work with each other and make society a better place to live in.

Special thanks to all the mentors who had beautifully designed the online sessions. I am so glad that I was able to be a part of it. I’ll miss everyone. I’ll miss this entire session—loads of love to everyone.
