Cricketer Yashpal Sharma Has Passed Away At 66

Cricketer Yashpal Sharma has passed away at 66 after suffering a cardiac arrest. Member of 1983 World Cup-winning squad notably known for his gentleness, generosity and greatness as a player and person primarily dedicating himself to the service and spirit of being a sportsman.

Yashpal Sharma.

Known for his collection of shots, he was a perfect timer of the ball with an ability to pull the game away from the opposition. His marvellous knock against the West Bengal transporting sixes across on and off side was one of the preferred picks of exciting, encouraging and entertaining cricket lovers across the board.

Yashpal Sharma, with his penchant for commentary, usually cracked one-liners aptly defining and describing the scene and situation on the field extraordinarily and outstandingly detailing and disseminating information and updates to the ordinary viewers. Being jovial in the dressing room and outside it, he found many takers always looking up to him when in conflict and crisis ad for a sense of appeal and attraction.

From Gavaskar to Kapil Dev, who were colleagues with him, have condoled his untimely demise as Indian cricket has lost one of the jewels in its crown.

Gone too soon, too early.

Om Shanti!
