Bangladesh Creates History, Wins Three Consecutive Matches Against Australia In T20I

Captain Mahmudullah scored a brilliant half-century while Bangladesh’s bowlers thrashed Australia by 10 runs in the third T20I on a difficult pitch to take an unbeatable 3-0 lead in the five-match series. Bangladesh, after making a modest score of 127 for nine in 20 overs, restricted Australia to 117 for four in 20 overs to win. This is the first time Bangladesh has won three consecutive matches against Australia in any format.

In Bangladesh’s innings, Captain Mahmudullah scored 52 runs off 53 balls with the help of four fours. From Australia, Mitchell Marsh scored 51 runs off 47 balls with the help of six fours and a six, while Alex Carey scored an unbeaten 20, but could not take the team to victory. Mehmudullah received the Player of the Match award for his brilliant innings.

The match is a major setback for the Australia cricket team right before the start of the T20 World Cup. Anyway, Australia has not been able to win the T20 World Cup till date; in such a situation, the defeat against Bangladesh is like salt on the wounds.

Although Australia is playing in the absence of most of its senior players including David Warner, Pat Cummins, Glenn Maxwell, Jay Richardson, Kane Richardson, Marcus Stoinis and Daniel Sams, losing to the Bangladesh team will be a long-time memory for Australia.

Bangladesh’s first ODI victory over Australia came on England’s soil in 2005 when Mohammad Ashraful scored a scintillating century in the chase of nearly 250 runs. Later in 2018, Bangladesh defeated Australia in their own home, and now, they have not only opened the account in T20 as well. But this has also raised the hopes of winning the series for the first time.
