The recent win by women players at the Olympics counters the dichotomous mindset that separates male and female features. What is astounding to note is that women are excelling in the fields which were hitherto available only to men, for example, weightlifting.
Mirabai Chanu set an example about how women can carry a lot more than just the weight of familial responsibilities. Given an opportunity, they can lift heavy weights too, as a sport.
My point here is to stop stereotyping regarding the roles of women and men. Men could be good chefs or caregivers. Likewise, women can be responsible breadwinners. No job is superior or inferior, it’s just that we need to get rid of our judgments related to what ought to be done by the so-called different genders.
