Modi ji’s speeches are all about launching and relaunching schemes and policies with an electoral enthusiasm and energy. Appealing, involving and engaging his constituency from an “Ujjwala” to “Kisan Samman Nidhi”, it is equally important to acknowledge the shortcomings and grievances which make these programmes unattractive to the people.
Why is that welfare has to be made a pitch for winning people’s greetings and gestures! Willingness is almost missing from the scene with the PM passionate about communicating his expressions and opinions to the common and ordinary masses.
Implementation and not formulation has to be detailed, discussed and debated rather than being buried as has become the case with the ceremonial nature of the occasion and events attached and associated. Maybe we expect more from our charged up PM in all respects. Still, a lot can be attempted keeping alive people’s hopes, ambitions and emotions. Remember, how unfriendly a Coronavirus pandemic has been for most of us around- battling, battering and bruising.
