Quick Bytes: Muslim Clerics Need To Focus More On Education

Unsurprisingly the thing that glints both day and night is the light of education. What would have been the Muslim clergymen could gather to hold Press Conferences is nothing but a multiplication about educational activities. Over the last few days, they are expanding their mastery on irrelevant matters.

Moreover, the Muslim religious heads in the state of Uttar Pradesh resent government guidelines regarding the forthcoming Muharram. Of course, some lines induce grave inconvenience to not only clerics but all Muslims. The decision not to attend the peace committee meetings is good, and raising objections through other ways continue.

However, why do they not turn towards the U.P. Board of Madrasa Education for the betterment of madrasa students? The Board has applied for membership of the Council of Boards of School Education in India (CBSE) to help the madrasa students so that they could succeed in finding themselves eligible for seeking jobs in the armed forces and other employment units. The Registrar of UP Board of Madrasa Education, R. P. Singh, made it clear that they have applied for CBSE accreditation.

What hinders at the initial stage is that the armed forces and several other employment agencies and educational institutions do not approve the Madrasa Board’s education certification for enrollment with them. They ask for CBSE registration for this purpose.

The state madrasa board also brings a second proposal to help its students with higher education to provide degrees at graduation and post-graduation level to madrasa students under the Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University. Nearly 16,000 recognised madrasas (including as many as 560 government-aided) run in the state. Approximately 18 lakh students are being taught from primary to post-graduation levels. Muslim clerics should appreciate this initiative at the government level.
