Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s troubles are increasing continuously after sharing a picture on Twitter of the family of a 9-year-old innocent girl who was allegedly raped and murdered in Nangal village of Delhi.

On the one hand, the BJP has attacked Rahul Gandhi, saying that he has violated the law by sharing the picture of the family of the minor girl. This has exposed the identity of the victim, which is wrong as per the POCSO Act.

At the same time, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has issued a notice to Twitter on this issue. The commission has issued a notice to Twitter asking it to delete the picture which has been shared by Rahul Gandhi.

A tweet has been made in this regard by the commission. The commission wrote, “Disclosure of the identity of the girl child by tweeting her family’s picture is a violation of the POCSO Act. Taking cognizance of this, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights issues notice to Twitter India to remove this post.”

Rahul Gandhi had met the girl’s family on Wednesday morning. He met the girl’s mother and father in his car and shared his picture on Twitter. After meeting the family members, Rahul Gandhi had said that he took a pledge to get justice for the family and would not back an inch from it.

In a notice issued to the Resident Grievance Officer of Twitter India, the commission wrote that it has taken this action on a complaint that the identity of the girl was revealed through the picture shared by Rahul Gandhi. The commission reminded Twitter that it is illegal under the POCSO Act, the Juvenile Justice Act to reveal the identity of a minor victim through media or social media.

Apart from Rahul Gandhi, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal also met the girl’s family members. After meeting the family members of the girl, Rahul Gandhi wrote, “The tears of the parents are saying only one thing — their daughter, the daughter of the country deserves justice. And I am with them on this path of justice.”
