In Uttar Pradesh, the political excitement has intensified regarding the upcoming Assembly elections to be held in six months. On the occasion of Independence Day, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav has issued a message to the entire country on the pretext of which he gave a new slogan and strategy to win the 2022 UP Election war: ‘New air, new SP. The hand of the elders, the support of the youth’. Apart from this, with the resolve of contact, dialogue, cooperation, help, the party workers have been appealed to get involved in the elections.
In such a situation, the question arises that with a new slogan and a new mantra, will the SP be able to return to power?
Akhilesh’s slogan might have been a response to PM Narendra Modi’s new slogan that he announced from the ramparts of the Red Fort on India’s 75th Independence Day. This new slogan is:, ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’. Akhilesh’s slogan in response is that everyone should come, everyone must have a place and everyone must get respect. In this way, he has given an open invitation to everyone to come to SP and expressed confidence in offering to each person a proper dwelling and respect.
The UP elections of 2022 are being considered important for the SP, for which Akhilesh is engaged in joining hands with small state parties to correct the caste equation. He has started playing the bugle for his election campaign Independence Day onward. A strategy has been made to take the achievements of the SP government and the shortcomings of the Yogi government from door to door.
Akhilesh said that every section of the society is troubled by unemployment, rising inflation and declining earnings. In these circumstances, the public wants change and is in the mood for change. Millions of people have died due to Covid. Farmers, youth, businessmen and government employees are all suffering from the impact of the pandemic. To share their pain, the SP is going to start a campaign, with its basic mantra as: contact, dialogue, cooperation and help. It is clear from this that the SP will reach out to the people in UP through reconciliation and appeal to them to bring SP to power in 2022.
Akhilesh is also appealing to the people for cooperation and support in realising the mission of ‘Baayis Mein Bicycle’ for the creation of a new Uttar Pradesh by turning this wind of change into a storm. Reiterating about this new wind, the new SP will be ‘the hand of elders, the support of the youth’. Akhilesh mentioned that the form of governance should also change in the new era. The government should take a pledge to act as a service provider of the public, and not their ruler. Only by doing this can we work in the public interest.
Akhilesh said that the UP society is being ruled by the politics of division, against which he will fight for the rest of his life. He said that he learnt about this division while studying in a military school. The lesson of governance comes from discipline and Akhilesh alleged that today’s power and government are oppressive. The work of the government is to serve the people, but the government has made life difficult for the people. From Delhi to Lucknow, everyone is suffering from this double-engine government. In such a situation, he has appealed to his party workers to mobilise to bring the SP to power in the state.
Akhilesh said that the ruling party did not fulfil even a single promise it made to the public in 2018. For years, the government has been embroiled in many recruitments in the state. The government is not able to work properly at the borders and is destroying India’s identity by creating conflicts among various castes. He said that since 1931, there has been no caste census in the country and it must be brought back so that everyone can get opportunities in proportion to the population of their community as the backward and downtrodden castes have faced the most oppression and injustice at the hands of this government.
