Visakhapatnam Police Arrests Two Realtors For Forging Documents To Sell Land

The city police of Vizag arrested two of the three members of a realtor gang who attempted to sell land worth crores of rupees. The land that they were trying to sell belonged to an NRI. Furthermore, they forged documents such as the GPA and Special Powers. One of the accused out of the three is also an NRI, a resident in the USA.

One of the arrested accused has been identified as Jarapu Srinivasa RAO (51), a resident of Vizag city. The other arrested is Vasametti Jayasurya (51), a native of Kakinada in the East Godavari district. The third accused is B Ananda Raju, a native of the Nalgonda district who presently resides in the USA.

Vizag city police Chief Manish Kumar Sinha said that Tummala Krishna Chowdary owns a land of 12.26 acres under various survey numbers at Kommadi in Vizag city. Krishna Chowdary has been residing in Columbus of USA since 2012. He married Laxmi Surya Prasanna in 2009 and now resides in East Godavari.

Being a realtor, Jayasurya purchased some land from Krishna Chowdary in 2012. Furthermore, he came to know that Chowdary owns 12.26 acres of land in Vizag city. After that, he obtained certified copies of sales deeds of the land through mee-Seva.

Jayasurya plotted a plan to sell out the land that belonged to Chowdary with forged documents. He met Srinivasa Rao, who worked as a lecturer in a corporate college in the past and has now started a real estate business. The duo created forged GPS and Special Power as if they had been executed by Chowdary.

The duo then reached out to realtor S Chandra Mouli to sell the land and they fixed the price for the land at Rs 18.7 crore. Later, Chandra Mouli approached U Sukumara Varma, MD of Kasyap Developers for the sale of the land. Moreover, the real-estate firm agreed to buy the land also asked the bank account of Chowdary to pay the advance of Rs 99 lakh.

Jayasurya contacted B Ananda Raju, who resides in the USA. They explained the conspiracy to him. Jayasurya offered him to pay Rs 1 crore if Raju acts as Chowdary whenever required to speak with buyers over mobile. Raju agreed to the deal.

Since Chowdary didn’t have any bank accounts in India, Jayasurya managed to speak with Raju, who posed as Chowdary with Chandra Mouli through the conference and made them believe that Chowdary was speaking from the USA. Later, the real-estate firm paid Rs 99 lakh as advance through cheques in the name of Chowdary. The trio took Rs 1.5 crore from the buyer in cash portraying emergencies faced by Chowdary.

Given that Kasyap Developers gave a paper publication through an advocate about the purchase of the land, Srinivasa Rao executed a sale deed to U Sukumar Varma at Sub-Registrar Office, Madhurawada, in Vizag city with pending registration.

On coming to know about the paper publication, Chowdary’s wife Laxmi Surya Prasanna approached the Sub-Registrar office, citing that her husband didn’t execute any Special Power to anyone. She also lodged a police complaint.

Based on the complaint, the PM Palem police investigated the case and nabbed two of the three members of the gang.
