Varun-Maneka Gandhi Dropped From The BJP Committee Over Their Lakhimpur Tweet

Varun Gandhi, along with Maneka Gandhi, has been dropped from the Bhartiya Janta Party National Executive Committee. It’s a decision that was bound to create friction and fissures as, over the last few years, Pilibhit MP Varun Gandhi hardly took part in any of the NECs. This decision comes as a price he is paying for being constructively critical of the schemes of the ruling dispensation at the Centre viz farmers’ distress and agitation that has been hogging the headlines. His criticism has been especially against Yogi Adityanath’s UP government mainstreaming the lumpen fringe responsible for the scenery at Hathras and Lakhimpur Kheri.

Varun Gandhi (L) and Maneka Gandhi (R) have been dropped from the Bhartiya Janta Party National Executive Committee.

Why should Varun Gandhi be reprimanded when, in the first place, he is only reminding the party of its commitments to the people on the eve of the elections? Technically, he sounds more like a member of the ruling regime but with a rider championing the rights of the displaced and distressed.

Did he make a blunder by asking its own party to mend its ties with the people over contentious farm laws severely impacting the common farmers? Maybe for a party too appetitive of political posturing and positioning, this may not bode well. They expect esteem acceptance and acknowledgement for the core idea of Hindutva manifesting in different forms, shapes and sizes convincing and conducting the opinions, ideas and sentiments of the electorate alike.
