Born and brought up in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, Lalitha Perumalla is an engineering graduate in the field of Information Technology (IT). Like most students, Lalitha took up engineering with no idea about career options she can explore or even about what the course is all about.  It was during her engineering program that she was introduced to coding and developed an affinity towards the subject.

After graduating, Lalitha was placed at one of India’s largest IT companies as a Database Administrator, which was nothing short of a dream for this young student. Lalitha aspired to build a career as a coder, however, only after starting her job did she realise that the job role had the most minimum requirement for real coding.

This was a crucial stage for Lalitha as she was just beginning her career and had to make a few right choices. Lalitha decided to give up her dream job and work towards finding her path in the field of coding. She began with enrolling for a few online skilling programs, but the challenge was on the practical application of what she was learning. Lalitha wasn’t able to decipher which programming language needed to be used when or what were the real-time applications of the same.

At this point, she realized that coding was a subject where one needs hands-on training supported by theoretical knowledge. This was when Lalitha came across Masai School’s Backend Development program. The Income Sharing Agreement model offered her the ‘Study now pay later’ option, and hiring assistance post completing the program was a much added advantage for her. She instantly knew that this was her answer to kickstart her coding career.

During her learning phase with Masai School, Lalitha not only learnt new technical skills but also learnt to better manage her time which boosted productivity levels. In spite of the  challenging curriculum, Lalitha was undeterred and continued to focus on her goal. On completing the program, Lalitha bagged a job as a software developer in a leading online clothing brand, and a salary which was three times that of her first job.

Lalitha shares her thoughts, “Follow your passion. Keep learning what excites you, and develop a habit of skilling and upgrading yourself. With this, you will solve any problem you come across. Be confident and believe in yourself.”

At Masai School, the Income Sharing Agreement (ISA) model gives students the option to ‘Study Now and Pay Later’ once they get a suitable job of or above 5 Lakhs per year. Currently, the company offers programs in Full Stack Web Development (full-time and part-time programs) and a UI UX Design Program (full-time program) and is planning to launch Data Analytics, Product Management and more programs over the next few months.
