After announcing the release of ‘Sanak – Hope Under Siege’ on Disney+ Hotstar on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra (October 15) this year, Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah and Zee Studios have now made their Bollywood debut with hostess drama Vidyut Jammwal. A new poster of Bengali movie star Rukmini Maitra has been released.
Rukmini, who will be making her Bollywood debut in ‘Sanak’ opposite Vidyut, is considered one of the most popular and biggest names in the Bengali film industry, with some successful films to her credit.
Says Rukmini, “When I got a call from Vipul Shah’s office for an action thriller by Vidyut Jammwal, I knew it would be one of the best action thrillers to be made in India, as Vipul sir did a fantastic big budget action thriller. Have made films. Also it had scope of performance which I have always wanted as an actor. So it was a win-win situation for me. They were looking for a fresh face and asked me to send me a small audition. Gaya and I was signed for the film.”
Vipul Shah explains, “Since the love story is an integral part of ‘Sanak’, we were looking for a new face in the film along with Vidyut and Rukmini was the right choice. Both Vidyut and Rukmini make a great pair and me. Hope the audience will love their on-screen chemistry.”

Apart from producing musical blockbusters with superstars for over two decades, Vipul Shah has also launched talented actors including Aditya Roy Kapur and Vidyut Jammwal.
Starring Vidyut Jammwal, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Neha Dhupia and Rukmini Maitra, Sunak – Hope Under Siege is presented by Zee Studios in association with Sunshine Pictures Pvt Ltd and will stream only on Disney+ Hotstar Multiplex from October 15. It is a Vipul Amrutlal Shah production film, directed by Kanishk Verma.
