If someone has passion, then in any circumstances, she can achieve the position that she wants to achieve, so has been done by Sangavi of the Malasar community, a resident of Nanjappanur village near Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Sangavi’s father used to work in the field to support the family. One year after the death of her father, Sangavi did not give up, continued her studies, and achieved her goal.
Sangavi completed her intermediate schooling at the government school in her village. After that, Sangavi was inclined towards medical studies. Last year, Sangvi had participated in the NEET exam but did not go through. During a conversation with The Times of India, Sangavi said that the sudden demise of her father was a great loss for her but she decided to do something in memory of her father. The death of her father became the motivation for her to clear the NEET exam. Sangavi said, “I nurtured the dream of becoming a doctor to help my village people as I have seen their pain and helplessness when they are afflicted by diseases. I am happy that I didn’t let my village down and cleared NEET. I wish I can secure a seat in a government medical college and get support from the government“.
The cut-off percentage for ST/SC candidates is between 108 and 137 marks. Sangavi has achieved remarkable success by scoring above the cut-off marks. However, their troubles are not over yet. Sangavi is seeking financial help from the state government to pursue an MBBS course.
Sangavi’s difficulties are still not over. Due to financial constraints, she is unable to pay for medical college and has appealed to the state government for financial assistance.
