*Trigger Warning: Hate Speech*

During the Dharma Sansad organised by Yati Narsinghanand in Haridwar, hate speech and calls for genocide against minorities were heard.

In today’s India, people are inclined towards the side of “extremism” when it comes to religion. Somehow, most people think that they are the saviours of the religion they follow. If they do not save their respective religion, their religion will be destroyed.

With this mindset, a 3-day Dharma Sansad was organised in Haridwar from 17–19 December. The organiser of this event was Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati, head priest of a temple in Ghaziabad, who has many cases registered against him for inflammatory and controversial remarks.

This religious event was attended by many priests and political activists and workers. At this event, there was a call for genocide of Muslims living in India. An appeal was made to every Hindu to carry weapons to kill. Videos from the event have gone viral and the outrage began on the internet.

What Was Said?

Dharamdas Maharaj, a seer from Patna, pointed out at the Former PM of India, Manmohan Singh, saying, “I wish I was the MP presented in Parliament with a revolver and could’ve shot six bullets into him just like Nathuram Godse.” Some of his followers and seers echoed in the same voice and also warned local administrations about stopping all the Christmas celebrations in hotels and schools.

Another priest from Sambhavi Dhaam, Anand Swaroop Maharaj, warned those who celebrate Christmas in hotels or clubs would be responsible for their own property damaged by us. “We will wage a war worse than 1857 revolt against them,” he said.

The organiser of this event, Yati Narsinghanand, appealed to Hindu youth to become like LTTE leader “Prabhakaran” and “Bhindranwale”. He said that if any Hindu youth would become the “Prabhakaran of Hindu Community”, he would personally reward them ₹1 crore for their service, and if they continue for at least a year, he would also try to raise ₹100 crores for them.

Sadhvi Annapurna Mata directed Hindus to carry weapons, not books. “A necessity to carry weapons for the cleansing of them (Muslims). It is must to kill them in order to save your religion and make India a Hindu Rashtra,” she said.

The whole event was about cleansing minorities and outsiders and preserving Hindutva in India. The making of Hindu Rashtra is the demand of many extremists who belong to this very religion.

Political Reactions

As obvious, all the left-wing parties and Congress lashed out at the thought and nature of this religious event that took place in Haridwar. They showed their concerns and also held the Modi government accountable for this environment in the country.

Just after 2 days of this event, #ArrestBhagwaTerrorists and #ArrestHaridwarGenocideMongers started trending on Twitter by the netizens. Waris Pathan, National Spokesperson and Leader, AIMIM, tweeted and asked Uttarakhand CM and police officials to put these Hindutva bigots behind bars.

The Congress tweeted and lined the difference between “Hindus and Hindutvaadis“.

Trinamool Congress Spokesperson and RTI Activist Saket Gokhale filed a legal complaint against provocative and inflammatory remarks made at the event and named Jitender Narayan, alias Waseem Rizvi, who was earlier the chairman of Shia Waqf board of Uttar Pradesh.

Police Action

After the legal complaint, Uttarakhand police tweeted, saying, “Taking cognisance of the video that is going viral on social media for spreading hatred by giving provocative speeches against a particular religion, a case has been registered against Wasim Rizvi alias Jitendra Narayan Tyagi and others under Section 153A IPC in Kotwali Haridwar and legal proceedings are in progress.”

Haridwar Superintendent of Police (SP) City Shekhar Suyal said that two more had been booked in the same case. The police named Dharm Das and Annapurna Mata for giving hate speeches in the religious event.

A National Shame And Threat

This religious event has brought shame to this country by echoing hate slogans and lynching every single day against the minorities living within the country. More than 75 Supreme Court advocates have written a letter to the CJI for taking cognisance and suo moto case against all the hate mongers of this event.

Shockingly, all the religious figures who attended and gave hate slogans came on national media and justified their statements.

Do you all remember Munawar Faruqui? A stand-up comedian who was arrested for a month by the police based on assumptions. A BJP-MLAs son stopped his show and complained to the police.

The partiality and biases in the legal system of India are visible. There are no UAPA, Sedition, NSA or any non-bailable charges against those who spew venom in public.

The problem with these extremists in every religion is that they do not respect and obey the basic values of the constitution of India. Normal people get such wrong influence. This is a national shame and grave threat to this country.
