Members of a right-wing organisation raise weapons, slogans and saffron flags.

Section 144 of the CrPc (Code of Criminal Procedure) was imposed in Mathura after the Hindu Mahasabha threatened to install an idol of Krishna in a mosque.

After the announcement by Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura, prohibitory orders were enforced. The Hindu Mahasabha said that since there are mosques near a major temple in Mathura, an idol of lord Krishna would be installed in one of them on December 6, 2o21.

December 6 is also when the Babri masjid was demolished (1992) in Ayodhya.

After this news broke, it caused a stir among the locals and officers in Mathura. There were fears that there would be a breach in peace in the city. District magistrate, Navneet Singh Chahal said that no one would be allowed to disturb peace in Mathura.

Chahal said he along with SSP (senior superintendent of police) Gaurav Grover, reviewed the security of both the shrines, the Katra Keshavdeva temple and the Shahi Idgah mosque.

Another right-wing organisation, Narayani Sena, has said that it will organise a march from Vishram Ghat to Shri Krishna Janmasthan, demanding the removal of the mosque.

The police said they have detained Narayani Sena’s secretary, Amit Mishra in Mathura, while the organisation claims its national president, Manish Yadav, has been detained in Lucknow.
