Poem: Islamophobia

Muslim Community Palghar Incident

To the east, to the west,
To the north, to the south,
I have travelled miles and miles,
Listening the sounds of Islamophobia.

With dreams of peace and hope of
Brotherhood my heart bleeds tears
through my voyage.

You say your beard is trend and mine is label for terrorism,
You say your costume is style and mine is label for terrorism,
You say your hat is fashion and mine is
Label for terrorism,
Listen, black doesn’t mean evil,
White doesn’t mean trash,
Brown doesn’t mean illegal,
And Muslims doesn’t mean terrorist.
This is nothing but your emotion of hate and war against humanism.

Oh my burning heart,
I can’t forget this voyage.
Oh my loyal heart,
believe it;
They want us to be afraid of leaving our homes.
They want us to barricade our doors,
and hide our children.
They want us to bury our love,
and burn our hope and humanity.
Their aim is to take all our light!
They think their bricked walls,
will separate us.
They think their damned bombs,
will defeat us.
They are so ignorant they don’t understand,
that when they cut you I bleed.
They are so ignorant they don’t understand,
that we will never be afraid, we will never be silent for, life is ours, peace is our dream!

We’ve wasted enough time on labels and covers,
It’s time to be family filling the world with colours.
