Can The Congress Win In Punjab Without Sidhu?

Image of Navjot Singh Sidhu

It has been recently shown through a survey that 40% of respondents believe that Navjot Singh Sidhu would prove to be beneficial for the Congress party in ensuing the Punjab Assembly polls. If the party chief has so little popularity, it’s possible that the win would not be wholly definite. This popular survey points to the opinion of a certain group of people. It seems that the dissension within the party has been restricting the popularity of the grand old party, and that is why the Aam Aadmi Party is raising aloft its flag in Punjab.

The Congress seems to be in a dream. The party has been breathing the fresh optimistic air following the recent changes. However, the current survey does not create a rosy picture for the party. The path of the political ground is not so simple and straightforward like the divers who find their way to the water surface while pursuing their crucial nautical expedition. Yet, they continue to aspire to reach the deep-down depths.

In a recent survey, 40% of respondents believe that Navjot Singh Sidhu would prove to be beneficial for the Congress party in ensuing the Punjab Assembly polls.

The party members need to reach people’s hearts like the AAP and Akali Dal have. The query remains as to how much of what the party has endured will be substantial in determining its win.

Despite Sidhu being a name for the party, his immersive political experience occupies a different expanse in the state’s political profundity, which lies hidden beneath the distinct differences brought into the party. Strangely enough, 60% of the respondents do not see a neon glint wave rotating around the party after Sidhu’s entry as the Punjab Congress Chief.

Challenges and disagreements seem to bite him and he does not appear to be fitting into the political frames. The space is not so brilliantly bright for him and a thoughtful buzz of his many opponents seems to strongly surround him. It is time to study the obstacles; he may be asked to cross the odds, to ascend from the thickest or the darkest smokes pervading in his short stint on the high seat.
