Can We All Just Appreciate The Little Joys In Our Lives?

You must be wondering what this topic is all about? I sat down once thinking about how much we have in life and how much we don’t. Inevitably the list was longer in terms of what we possess. The sunset, sunrise, the magic of flowers blooming, trees and plants growing, the butterflies and squirrels that I observe in my garden, the rare species of butterflies and squirrels.

Ultimately, we get so disconnected that it is truly overwhelming and distraught. (Source: pixahive)

We, at times, get so engrossed and intimidated by our own life problems that we forget the essence of the world out there. We naturally take it for granted.

Of course, it’s important to take care of our own needs too, but, sadly, people get so selfish at times. Of course, it’s okay to be a little selfish at the end of it; it’s our life. But to get what we want in life, like money, our career, fame, success, etc., one can do anything, even if that means breaking the law or letting go of our morals.

Everything ultimately becomes about “me, myself and I”. Everyone eventually goes away either to another country to get settled or get so disconnected that it is truly overwhelming and distraught.

Many might fear that the person they are sitting with right now or spending a lot of time with these days will eventually go away or get disconnected, so we just don’t want to get close to anybody. Yes, It’s important to be alone at times but not sit and worry about them going. One should make the most of their time with that individual. It’s, unfortunately, an ugly truth.

My point is that we sit and worry about so many things that we forget the reason why we were born in the first place. We forget how this world was created. We don’t question that aspect anymore; perhaps ignore it all. There are very few people who would actually reach out to those in need of help or the voiceless.

Because of stress, people blame others and ruin their own day and others; it becomes a whole cycle. I sometimes question why there have to be so many complexities in life. We pick fights, interfere in other people’s lives, make judgements, pass comments or even do things to others just to harm them.

Why? Why can’t we live like “normal” human beings? Why can’t we spread joy and happiness instead of crying about our own lives all the time? Get out of yourself, focus on the good things of life, which we often forget.

The Swiggy food deliveries that we can afford, Netflix, car, money, clothes, shelter, etc. We have so much to cherish in life, but we give nothing back to nature or to those around us.

One should be a miser, but not when it comes to donating money, clothes, food, etc., to those who truly need it more than us. What’s there in an act? A little effort can do wonders for the world. Let’s just get out of ourselves and leave space for others in our lives. Let’s live our lives like never before, exhaling all the negativity that we have in store for ourselves and others.

Take a break from the chaos, let yourself be free from the sadness and tension, and just live life like there’s no tomorrow. We can make the day better for ourselves if we make it better for the other individual.

“There is nothing more beautiful than someone who goes out of their way to make life beautiful for others.” – Mandy Hale. A true, perfect and accurate quote that would sum up my little bundle of thoughts.
