Are Indian Women Free Enough To Live Life On Our Own Terms?

Four Indian women stand side by side. The third one from the right appears to be older than the others.

Yes, it’s me! It’s my opinion and choice. Why would I allow someone else to control my happiness and sorrows?

If I wish to live my life my way, I must be free to fly. They (people) say “life is precious”. Every moment must be spent as if it’s the last because who knows what will happen next.

I believe the same, but whenever I try to step ahead, according to my own desire, I am always stopped. Sometimes, it’s the daughter inside me, and sometimes it’s the wife or the mother inside me.

I wish to fly high. I wish to touch the sky. I wish to enjoying every passing moment, but… This BUT stops every woman around you. Be it you, your mother, sister, friend, wife, or anyone else.

We try to put our best foot forward, but that’s not easy. Yes, it’s me, independent and still dependent. It’s not my choice as to what I want to do and how I wish to live my life.
