Are Lockdowns Enough To Mitigate The Omicron Virus?

Well, curfews and lockdowns will be limited in their impact in taming the spread of Omicron until people refuse to maintain Covid-appropriate behaviour. Metro cities like Delhi and Mumbai are becoming the hubs of community transmissions with their numbers drastically adding up to the worst of our fears and perpetuating a sense of dismay, despair and disdain.

Practically, it’s the population that has to become more responsible in getting themselves tested and treated for their symptoms with utmost care and precaution. I think in this direction, the government should come up with illustrations distinguishing different variants of Covid responsible for the spread of Covid, apart from ordering booster doses for people above 60 years.

This will ensure their immunity against this fatal mutating virus. This would be beneficial for those living in the horrors of infection, especially those battling co-morbidities and a compromised immune system with different organs of civic agencies coordinating, consulting and cooperating with each other for the better as for the circulation of leaflets and pamphlets pointing the do’s and don’ts, emphasising on personal cleanliness and hygiene.

Concluding with a decision on it will definitely be resourceful for those bearing the scorch of a never-ending pandemic at least in their lifetime, isn’t it?
